Moderately difficult, but with great results. Cleverly designed.
This was the first lighting project I ordered, although I familiarized myself with the LMB products by starting a simpler project first (the Caterham Super 7).
The Sian is an amazing product; but I only discovered Light My Bricks after I'd finished it. I was excited to discover that these are designed to be used with completed models.
I was surprised how cleverly designed the lighting product is, and how easy it was to conceal the cabling. Perhaps it's just the nature of Technic that it gives you a lot more places to hide and route wires.
The headlight beams are a unique touch and elevate the lighting kit beyond most of LMB's other offerings.
I did find the taillights to be a bit fiddly so be prepared to spend some extra time on them.
One gripe I have about all of these LMB products is that I wish we could at least opt a few extra dollars for printed instructions. Trying to zip around on the PDF file and zoom in and out to see the details of where to run wires, is a bit of a nuisance, especially on a laptop. I would gladly pay a little extra as an option for a booklet.
Finally although the official power bank will fit in the hood, I opted for the USB cable and the AA battery box. The pictures show that it is quite capable of driving all the lights to full power.
Anyway, if you can afford the Sian, you can afford the lighting kit for it as well. It makes a world of difference. Next LMB project... probably the Titanic.
