This was a good kit that adds a lot to the Lego set. However, it is a bit basic when compared to the more recent modular city kits (e.g., Jazz Club, Book Shop, Daily Bugle, Police Station, etc.). One significant difference is that the components required for wireless connectivity aren’t included in the kit. You’ll need to purchase a few items separately. The additionally cost isn’t significant, but it’s annoying if you only realize this when you’ve started installing the kit. The instruction manual lists the additional items you’ll need. Go on and order them when you purchase the kit. Being able to see inside the buildings really does bring this set to life!

I have not used this light kit yet, but my son has his Assembly Square lit up and it looks awesome!
What I like about it, is that the parts are very small and you can’t see the wires to much.

On page 3 of the instructions (https://support.lightmybricks.com/article/th6lh8g5pp-assembly-square-10255) are a list of extra components you can buy to complete the build using wireless power connectors. That will let you remove the various floors of Assembly Square without having to deal with wires connecting them physically. It's more expensive but depending on how you intend to use your model is probably worth it.
